Better storytelling. Stronger marketing. Practical support.

I provide one-off marketing consultancy for business owners and marketing teams who want to use storytelling more effectively.

Together, we look at the stories already within your business and explore how photography, video, podcast-style content and written stories can help you communicate your work more clearly.

You will leave with a better understanding of why storytelling works, which stories are worth sharing and how to use your visual content with greater purpose and consistency.

No lengthy strategy documents or unnecessary complexity. Just focused, practical support that helps you tell better stories through your marketing.

Storytelling-led marketing, made practical

Most businesses are not short of stories. They are often short of the time, clarity or confidence to recognise which stories matter and how to use them well.

There are conversations happening every day. Work being delivered. Problems being solved. Customers being supported. People, products and services making a difference.

But much of this never becomes part of the marketing. Stories are overlooked, visual content is created without a clear purpose, or communication becomes focused on what the business does without showing the people, experience and value behind it.

That is where I can help.

Through focused, one-off marketing consultancy, I work with business owners and marketing teams to identify the stories already within their organisation and understand how to use them more effectively.

We look at why storytelling works, what makes a story relevant to your audience and how photography, video, podcast-style content and written stories can support clearer, more engaging marketing.

The aim is not to create more content for the sake of it. It is to help you notice what is already there, make better use of the assets you have and approach future storytelling with greater clarity and purpose.

Storytelling marketing consultancy

I offer practical, one-to-one marketing consultancy for business owners, organisations and marketing teams who want to use storytelling more effectively.

The support is designed to help you make better use of the stories, knowledge and visual content already within your organisation. This might include photography, video, podcast-style content, customer stories, team experiences, project updates or the everyday work that often goes unnoticed.

Rather than producing your marketing for you, I work alongside you to strengthen your thinking, build confidence and help you develop a clearer approach that your team can continue using.

How I can support you

Every organisation will need something slightly different, so the support is flexible.

You can book a single consultancy session if you need focused help with a particular challenge, campaign or piece of work.

You can also work with me over a short period, for example:

  • Two hours a week for six weeks
  • Ongoing support over three months
  • A small, focused project shaped around a specific marketing need

Sessions can be used to review your current marketing, identify the stories worth sharing, plan how to use photography, video or podcast content, improve the way you communicate your work or support your team to develop a more consistent approach.

My consultancy rate is £100 per hour.

What you will gain

The aim is to leave you with greater clarity, stronger ideas and a practical way forward.

You will better understand:

  • Why storytelling helps people connect with your work
  • Which stories are most useful to your audience
  • How to use visual assets with more purpose
  • How to turn everyday activity into meaningful marketing
  • How to create a more consistent approach without adding unnecessary complexity

This support can be particularly useful if your marketing feels reactive, your content lacks direction or you have valuable photography, video and stories but are unsure how to use them well.

It can also help marketing teams step back from day-to-day delivery, look at what is already working and build a clearer storytelling approach around the people, projects and impact within the organisation.

Practical support, shaped around your organisation

There is no fixed programme and no lengthy strategy document at the end.

The work is shaped around your organisation, your team and the marketing challenges you are facing now.

You may need one focused conversation to help you move forward, or a short period of regular support to build confidence, develop ideas and put a clearer approach into practice.

Either way, the purpose is the same: to help you communicate your work in a way that feels more human, useful and true to the organisation behind it.

Storytelling-led marketing workshops

Once a quarter, I host a practical two-hour storytelling-led marketing workshop at our studio in Cleethorpes.

The workshop is designed for business owners, marketing professionals and employees responsible for social media or communications who want to understand how storytelling can make their marketing clearer, more engaging and more human.

Many organisations are already surrounded by useful stories, but their teams do not always recognise them or know how to turn them into effective marketing. Valuable photography, video and content can also be overlooked or used without a clear sense of what it needs to communicate.

This workshop helps participants step back from the pressure to keep producing content and think more carefully about the stories their organisation has to tell.

What the workshop covers

During the session, we will explore:

  • Why storytelling works in marketing
  • What makes a business or organisational story worth sharing
  • How to find stories within everyday work
  • How to move beyond simply promoting products or services
  • How photography, video and podcast-style content can bring stories to life
  • How to use visual assets with more purpose
  • How to turn one story into useful content across different marketing channels
  • How to create marketing that feels consistent without becoming repetitive

The workshop will include practical examples, guided discussion and time to apply the ideas to your own organisation.

Who the workshop is for

The workshop is suitable for:

  • Business owners managing their own marketing
  • Marketing and communications professionals
  • Employees responsible for social media
  • Small teams that want to develop a shared approach to storytelling
  • Organisations that have photography, video or other content but are unsure how to use it effectively

You do not need to be an experienced marketer to attend. The session is designed to be practical, accessible and relevant to the work you are already doing.

What you will take away

By the end of the workshop, you will have a clearer understanding of the stories within your organisation and how they can support your marketing.

You will leave with practical ideas you can begin using straight away, a more purposeful approach to photography and video, and greater confidence in creating content that helps people understand and connect with your work.

Workshop details

The workshops take place once a quarter at the Gary Davies Photography studio in Cleethorpes.

Each session lasts two hours and places are limited to keep the workshop practical, conversational and useful for everyone attending.

Upcoming dates and booking information will be published on this website.

I have worked in sales and marketing for over 30 years, starting in my parents' shop and later leading award-winning sales teams and securing multi-million-pound contracts in corporate recruitment.

In 2018, I stepped away from that world to build something different. I started this consultancy at 48, with a clear intention to work in a way that was more grounded, more sustainable and more aligned with what I actually believed in.

Since then, I have worked with community-led projects, partnerships, local organisations and purpose-led businesses, helping them capture the stories behind their work and share them in a way that feels clear, human and consistent.

I spend time listening. Asking questions. Understanding the people behind the work. From there, I help shape those conversations into stories that can be shared through written content, social media, video, audio and more.

I believe the most effective marketing does not come from trying to say more. It comes from noticing what is already there and sharing it well.
